Now you can play 10,000 Amiga games for free online
OLD school gamers, listen up, you’re about to take a serious trip down memory lane.
If you were into video games back in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s you’re likely to be familiar with the Commodore Amiga home computer.
However, because the Amiga was only really popular in Europe tends to get left out when it comes to the retro gaming scene – which is dominated by American and Japanese console offerings.
But, this is the case no longer…
The Internet Archive has now uploaded over 10,000 old Amiga games as well as apps and all are available to play for free on your web browser.
However, Amiga fans shouldn’t get too hyped up; as apparently it’s not everything it’s cracked up to be at the moment.

While the games are still pretty good, there are so many bugs and issues with playing them in your browser that it’s causing an issue with users.
Out of all the games that have been experimented with, the Metro reports that “only a couple worked and it was tricky to get the hang of without any keyboard instructions.”
Most of the games are still pretty playable, but many are just demos and it has also been noted that an array of the top rated games are missing from the archive.
Games offered include long-held Amiga classics such as Rainbow Islands and R-Type, but there’s no knowing how long each game will be available.
It’s probably best to take advantage of the best games and apps now, in case they disappear from the archive in the future.
